Privacy by default: what we don't track

Your dietary profile is some of the most sensitive data you carry. Here's how we treat it — and what we refuse to do with it.

A dietary profile is a small file with very personal information: medical conditions, religious practice, sometimes both. Most apps that handle data this sensitive promise privacy. Many of them sell it anyway.

We don't, and we've structured the company so we can't.

AlignEat is funded by subscriptions, not ads. There is no advertiser to sell data to. There is no "insights partner" who wants to know what your kid is allergic to.

Internally, your profile is encrypted at rest and in transit, accessed only when needed for a scan, and never linked to advertising IDs. Anonymised aggregate data may inform research — "how many AlignEat users follow a halal-certified profile" — but never individual data.

The simpler version: your scan history and dietary profile belong to you. We borrow them to make the app work, and we hand them back unchanged.
